Privacy Policy

Hey Babe is a private app for two people in a relationship. We built it so that what you share with your partner stays between the two of you.

End-to-end encryption

Your requests, notes, replies, nicknames, button settings, profile photos and shared photos are encrypted on your device with a key that only you and your partner have. Our servers store only encrypted data we can't read. We can't show it to anyone, use it for ads, or train any model on it.

If you turn on a backup, your keys are locked with a passphrase that only you know. We can't recover it. If you lose your device and your passphrase, your old messages can't be recovered.

What we do collect

• Account: your sign-in provider (Apple, Google or email), an account ID from that provider, your email address if it's shared with us, and the first name you enter.
• Pairing: which account you're paired with, and your public encryption key.
• Technical data: timestamps of requests and photos (not their content), push notification tokens, app-lock device records, and short-lived security logs used for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
• Appearance choices: the icon set and background you pick. A photo you use as your own background stays on your device.
• Reports: if you report a problem, we keep the reason and only the details you choose to type in.

Notifications

Push notifications are generic (for example "Your partner sent you something 💕") and never include the content of your messages.

Ads

The free version may show contextual ads only. Ads are never targeted using your private content (which we can't read), your relationship, your photos, or your messages. We don't sell your personal information and we don't share it with data brokers. If we ever show ads, we'll update this policy and the App Store privacy labels first.

Who we share with

Service providers that run the app for us (hosting and database on Cloudflare, Apple and Google for sign-in and push notifications, an email provider for sign-in links). They process data only to provide those services. We'll share data if the law requires it, but we have no way to decrypt your encrypted content.

Your choices

• Export: Settings → Privacy & data → Export my data. Your device decrypts your content for the export.
• Delete: Settings → Privacy & data → Delete my account. We delete your account, keys, backup and encrypted content right away. Backups of our database roll off within 30 days.
• Unpair or block at any time. Unpairing deletes your shared encrypted history.

Age

Hey Babe is for adults 17 and older. We don't knowingly allow anyone younger. If you think a minor is using it, report it in the app.

Retention

Photos you set to disappear are deleted when they expire. View-once photos are deleted from our servers as soon as they're opened. Everything else is kept until you delete it, unpair, or delete your account.
